Hi, Barbara:

I think there has been only one suggestion to store information in the actual "illustration" file object. I am not in favor.

In one of my earlier messages I provided as one of the data values to be stored in what I am (for the moment [grin]) calling the "Master Illustration List" the file and pathname to the file object. The data will not actually be stored "with" the file object. It will be in a record that has a one to one relationship with the file object (with minor technical exceptions, possibly). I think it's likely that is what you meant by "if the master list was actually a link" and if so, we agree on your basic point.

However, if by "the data" you meant (or include) data specific to the file object, and if you meant by "link" the link between the file object and the person or Tag, then I fiercely disagree with the idea of storing all the data with the link. Hopefully that isn't the case.
