Typical interpretation is that one is an everyman (or nearly every ancestor)
tree, the other is only significant ancestors in the known genealogy. Very
likely they're reconciled that way, and by using the paternal only.
Denise, I'd recommend a Google on "bible gedcom" and see what comes up.
Looks like there are several sites out there.
If you're looking for info on handling the ancient dates, it's come up
before on this list. Try searching the archives on "bible" or even (believe
it or not) "tolkien" for relevant threads.

This page claims to have one from Adam to Christ. I haven't looked at
it. I wonder how they handle the fact that two gospels give two
different genealogies for Christ (if you take it literally and don't
fudge by claiming one is for Mary).
