Colleagues,

I have a City Directory as a reference. I wish to have the year be a
variable that I place in the Citation Detail as a [CD1]. I developed the
sentences as shown below. You can see that I get a vestigial set of < >
about the “Hereinafter…..” sentence which appears in the output.

Is that because there are two variables within one set of < >?

Or is it something silly that I have missed. If it is the former, I have a
solution.

TIA.

Jill

Sentence:

[ITAL:][RECORD TITLE] [CD1][:ITAL] ([PUBLISHER ADDRESS]: [PUBLISHER]<,
[DATE]>)<, [CD2]><. Hereinafter cited as [ITAL:][SHORT TITLE] [CD1][:ITAL]>.

Preview:

[ITAL:]Spokane City Directory [CD1][:ITAL] (Spokane, Washington: Polk's
Spokane Directory)<, [CD2]><. Hereinafter cited as [ITAL:]Spokane City
Directory [CD1][:ITAL]>.

Final output:

[1]Spokane City Directory 1930, 1933, & 1934 (Spokane, Washington: Polk's
Spokane Directory)<. Hereinafter cited as Spokane City Directory 1930, 1933,
& 1934>.
