What do you mean about your laptop being "locked down"? I have not taken my
laptop to do research yet but my concern has been that I would have to carry
it around with me to keep it from being stolen especially in larger places
like libraries.

Hi Holly

I can't help with the vest part ---- although I think that is a great
idea --- but I have a comment about the purse issue. When I am doing
research at a place such as the Family History Library, I use a
little passport holder that hangs around my neck for my most
important, can't- lose-or-get-stolen stuff. I put my driver's
license, credit card, and my money in it. It is so light that I
hardly even know it is there. Then I put the rest of my girly goodies
in my laptop's case. All the important stuff (my laptop and the
passport holder) are all "locked down" so I am free to move about.
This might not be the solution you are looking for, but it may help
someone else.
