The new 20inch plus monitors and widescreens make possible the
display on the screen of more visible windows than the previous
monitors. So you don't have to be so choosy as to which windows you
want in your layout.
Also, I have two monitors for my desk PC. I've kept an old monitor
from a previous PC and have a dual monitor setup. It works
beautifully and I wouldn't be without it. You have two full-screen
applications open at once and you move your cursor from one to the
other as if across the one screen. Makes things like copying from
Word on the second screen to the Memo field of TMG, or dragging
photos from a thumbnail view on one monitor into the Exhibit window
of TMG, just so easy.
Unfortunately you can't stretch TMG and many other applications over
the two screens, though some like MS Outlook do support dual
monitors, which means you can drag a Note window across to the second
monitor and keep working anywhere else in Outlook on the first. You
can have one Word document open on one monitor and another on the
second monitor. And you can have two TMG projects open and visible too.
