Hi DeAnna,

I am one of those people who doesn't want to download emails onto my computer. So therefore I use the Yahoo and Hotmail programs for emails. I use Hotmail for newsletters. I have a different account for personal emails from family and friends.

I have two Yahoo accounts. One I use for corresponding with genealogy relatives and friends. The other Yahoo account I use strictly for genealogy newsletters such as TMG, GenSmarts, Ancestry, RootsWeb etc. Then I click the "Subject" heading to sort the emails by thread. I can delete the ones I am not interested in and then read the rest. I have set up separate folders for emails that I think I may want to refer to later on.

It may sound funny having so many email accounts, but for me it helps to keep everything separate. If I don't get around to reading the Genealogy newsletter site for a few days, that is ok because it doesn't clutter up my other emails and vice versa.

I have used this approach for several years now when using Dial Up internet. A couple months ago our area was finally provided with DSL service. I signed up and it is really nice.

Anyway, this is just an idea for you.

Judy
