Lee, These are Places, not sources. Remember I use the microfilm as the
repository. Thus they become places. I will try the utility though. I
figured I'd clean them up as I started using them. Created them all then I
am going back and adding the tasks. This is part of my 2006 resolutions of
getting more organized.

I suspect you mean that the name is "[NAME OF COUNTY] County Minute Book"
and thus "County Minute Book" is not the full name. Have you tried the
Find and Replace feature of John Cardinal's TMG Utility? Try it using the
Log Only feature and review the results to see if that will help. If it
doesn't do all the job, it may help determine a way to narrow the job from
300 individual corrections to a few groups at a time.
I tried the Source Abbreviation and replaced "Census" with "Population
Census". Even if I had wanted to make the change, I probably would not
have want to change all entries. But I could probably have found
sub-groups that I could have done and thus narrowed the total down of those
I would need to do individually.
Something to keep in mind on this is that you might try changing some to a
further "wrong" entry (e.g., "County Minute Book Vol." to
"County*Minute*Book*Vol."). This would mak these records not fit the
normal find and eliminate them while allowing you to correct the
remainder. (Be sure to do a back-up before trying this in case things go
wrong or you get things confused in the process.) Then after others are
corrected, go back one more time and change these back to the original
entries.
Hope this helps
