Anita
I have not kept up with this thread so this may be a repeat of what has been
said. The control of the order of tags in a report is different than the
control of the order of tags on the Details screen.
Details Screen:
The order in which DATED tags are displayed on the Details screen is
determined by whether or not you enter dates or sort dates. To determine the
order in which UNDATED tags are displayed you need to adjust your setting
under Preferences.... see Program Options, Tag Box, "Undated tags sorted."
Reports:
Usually the order in which DATED tags are displayed, in reports, depends on
the use of dates and sort dates. Sort dates are a great tool when used to
adjust the placement of information in a report. UNDATED tags sort at the
beginning of the report even though they may appear at the bottom of the
Details Screen (placement selected under Preferences). The only way to place
them (undated tags) at the bottom of the report is to enter a sort date that
is after any tag date for the selected individual.... so you now have a
DATED tag on the Details screen and in the report.
This can be confusing since we (or should I say I) tend to think of our
reports following the same tag placement order as we see on the Details
screen.... but this may not be accurate. It partially depends on how TMG
sets up a particular report.
Hope this helps or is it clear as mud. <G>
