Hi LuAnn,
Just in addition to the already given suggestions:
I even go one step further and have "Personal Knowledge of ... " and a
"Personal Memory of ..." Source type - both based on Interview but with the
difference that
Personal Knowledge - I use it if I enter the data at the time of (or very
close to ...) the event - for example if I've been a guest at a marriage and
enter it the next day ... - where the footnote actually contains: 'at the
time of the event' = not much chance of 'memory errors' and a fairly high
surety
Personal Memory - if I enter the data for 'long past' events - e.g. if I
attended a funeral 10 years ago - do believe I remember the date of the
funeral correctly but only remember that the person died 'ca.' 3 days prior
to the funeral - the footnote contains: 'memory some time after the event' =
the chance of 'memory errors' greatly increased and therefore a much lower
surety.
Just a thought,
Astrid
