Chris,
I am confused. With the exception of events that happen on the same day,
when would you have a sort date that didn't match the real date?

A sort date set specifically for one person is often not right for
another person linked as a witness on that tag. The user would change
the tag sort order if needed on a per person basis. Changing the order
on one person would have no effect on any other persons.

The order would still be set by the date. I'm only talking about sort
dates, not real dates.
