Teresa,

I make extensive use of sort dates. A typical example would be that I
sort all the census tags into a group at or towards the end of a
narrative rather than have them interspersed with other events. I also
sort death and burial after birth and baptism but before marriages. I
show spouse bmd events linked via the witness feature to principals.
(This is because in Second Site output I want to show only descendants
of the main line I am studying. SS does not have a "show spouse events"
feature, so I add these to the Principal as witnessed events. I then
have to sort the spouse's bmd events to follow immediately after the
marriage.)
I already gave the example of sorting census records if using the
Begeman system or similar.
