Although you haven't specifically mentioned the missing header message, you
did mention PAF, and maybe the message only comes up if you try the advanced
rather than simple wizard, don't know.

I am having difficulty importing a GEDCOM file that another researcher
has sent me. I believe the file was created in PAF as she mentioned that
that is the program she uses. I created a new, empty project and
selected Import from the File menu. I selected the simple wizard. I
navigated to the GEDCOM file which I had saved to my hard drive, but
after selecting the file I can go no further as the Next button is
grayed out. What am I doing incorrectly.
