In an update many updates ago, I had the same problem. Bob Velke told me to
disable the "check for updates daily" in my preferences, and I haven't had a
problem since. Since Bob announces every update on this mailing list, I'm
always on top of it anyway and don't use that feature. I've always been
able to be one of the first to download an update.

Go to: preferences > options > program options > start-up and exit > Check
the web site for an update every "0" days. Be sure to set this to zero.

I've seen the other people post the problem to this list, and just wanted to
say that I am experiencing the same..... Tech Support advised me to back up
my data, do an uninstall and then download the trial program.... I did
that, and registered it with my serial number, but the same error messages
appear. I tried completely uninstalling and changing directories, and then
reinstalling.... but the problem persists.

It only happens on my first boot after the computer has been shut down....
once I get rid of all of the error messages - there are six or eight of them
- the program does not open unless I attempt to open it again. The second
time, and subsequent times, there is no delay in opening.....

One odd thing.... I also have TMG on my notebook, and the updated version,
6.08, opens without a problem of any kind - though the notebook is not set
to check for updates each day..... hmmm, I'll have to try that on my
desktop!

John
