With TMG open, in the upper left corner left-mouse-click on the word "File"
and it will bring down a list of things to do. Left-mouse-click on
"Maintenance" and slide your mouse pointer over to the list that now opens.
The list includes "Reindex", "Optimize", and "Validate File Integrity"
(VFI), among others. First left-mouse-click on "Optimize" and that will
bring up a "yes/no" choice. Click on "yes" When that operation is complete
another dialogue box will come up and tell you the new size of your file.
Just click "OK".

Now go back to "File", "Maintenance", and click on "validate file
integrity". Again, click on "yes". Here is the important part. When TMG
is done, it will display a box with the results. If there were problems
found and corrected, you will see how many. IF THERE WERE MORE THAN ZERO,
please repeat "File", "Maintenance", "VFI", and "yes" until that routine
tells you that "no problems found".

These two maintenance operations should be done regularly, when you think of
them and certainly after a bunch of data input, just to make sure, as my son
says, the computer puts all its toys away.

Hope this is clear enough.
