Yes, just have the Year of the field you want sorted in a separate column.
When you set up the file, you can put in OUTPUT Columns. One of the options
should be Year.

I do what Teresa mentioned. It takes up a line of the output possibilities
but I leave it to the end and then never print it. I then put it primary
(i.e. with the no. 1 in the left side of the field for "sort by...")

I believe the word is "Year" but if you can't find it, or I have
misunderstood the issue, let me know.

When I do it, I make one of my output columns be the Year. Then I do the
sorting in Excel.

Hi-
I wanted to send a List... report to Excel and sort by date. I went to
Preferences and changed the date format from my usual dd Mmm yyyy to
yyyy.mm.dd so it would sort earliest dates first, etc. It changed the format
in the person view, but the Excel chart still sorted 1 Jul 1856, 1 Jun 1845.
Is there a way to be able to sort by year-month-date?
