I'm not an expert but here's how I handle this. But there is no one RIGHT
way to handle it. It depends on the output you want to achieve and your
preferences.

Event --> TMG Tag
-----------------------------
Death date --> Death tag ***yes***
Death location --> Death tag ***yes***
Interment date --> Burial tag ***yes***
Age reported --> Age tag (???). I would like to especially record this
especially if it's wrong. It help to disprove or understand conclusions made
by others or myself. ***I use the birth tag - add the death
certificate/obituary/gravestone etc... as a source, use sureties and add a
citation memo with my conclusions ***
Funeral ceremony date --> ????? ***I use a Funeral tag (I don't remember if
its standard or I added it)***
Funeral ceremony location --> ????? ****see above****
Burial location --> Burial tag ***Yes***
Funeral home --> ????? ***I use a Funeral Home tag - I think I had to add
it***
Funeral home location --> ????? ***see above***
Witnesses --> ???? ***depends on what they witnessed - death informants are
added as witnesses to death tag; participants in the funeral (reader,
pallbearer etc...) are added to the Funeral tag. I use roles and custom
sentences here***
Celebrant (priest) --> ???? ***a witness role on the funeral tag***

Subject: [TMG] Death related events

I've always been confused in dealing with death related events...... In
church records, you will typical find death record that contain a death
date, death location, interment date, reported death age (which sometimes is
wrong), witnesses, celebrant (priest).

In an obituary, you will typical find also a death date, death location,
funeral ceremony date, funeral ceremony location, burial location, no burial
date, reported death age, funeral home, funeral home location.

Being new to TMG, I want to learn how to deal with this properly.

I haven't created any new TAGs yet, but I am wondering why there isn't a
funeral TAG to begin with.

So far, here is how I understand it should (or could) be recorded in TMG :

Event --> TMG Tag
-----------------------------
Death date --> Death tag
Death location --> Death tag
Interment date --> Burial tag
Age reported --> Age tag (???). I would like to especially record this
especially if it's wrong. It help to disprove or understand conclusions made
by others or myself.
Funeral ceremony date --> ?????
Funeral ceremony location --> ?????
Burial location --> Burial tag
Funeral home --> ?????
Funeral home location --> ?????
Witnesses --> ????
Celebrant (priest) --> ????

A big thank you,
