Teresa and Donald,

Many, many thanks to you for your solutions. You both had correct ones, but
it was my own ineptitude that kept me from realizing it. As it happens, the
Descendants box at the bottom of the filter had been checked (a remnant of
some other search, no doubt) and I didn't notice it when trying Donald's
filter, "child ID <> 0". When I went to test Teresa's filter - "child ID >
1" - I noticed my mistake.

Some days, some things simply aren't intuitive. This is one of those days
for me!
