Tanya:
I am not wild about Pathwiz's user interface, but it works; and, once
you get used to it it's fine.
After you select your directory and project you have two choices: Filter
Actions and Project Wide Options. The latter will give you a nice short
report of internal vs. external exhibits -- a count. Filter Actions is
the one you want. In the first column select Internal Images; in the
second select the Exibit Type -- e.g., image, video, text, and in the
third, the exhibit group of Person or Other. I found all mine with
Person, but you may want to also try Other and the options that come up
when you do. That's all I had to choose to get my internal exhibits to
show up.
Unfortunately, these options are mutually exclusive and you may want to
do several runs to make sure you haven't missed any.
John's response introduced me to a function in TMG Utility that was new
to me. It sounds good but it's not what I would use for my problem. The
internal exhibits I had were from my import of my project from FTM, when
I first started using TMG. In FTM all my exhibits were internal, mostly
photographs. These internals were brought into TMG as thumbnails, and
the quality was poor. I wouldn't then try to convert them to externals
with any program because there is no way to improve a degraded
thumbnail; the data just aren't there. Once in TMG I proceeded to
replace those internals with high quality external images that could be
read on screen or printed out. I needed Pathwiz to find those pesky
thumbnails that were still hiding.
