Torben,
Nice to know that someone else has asked for this facility. Let's face it,
although TMG might be the best out there, it's also double the price, so you
would expect options like the "All-in-One" chart. It would be nice to know
if they were working on it, it's nice to live in hope.
Re GENviewer, I think Wholly Genes suggest the "islands" option, but these
are genuine islands of people with no connection at all to one another. I
didn't find that GENviewer gave any better facilities than TMG could not do
via a report, perhaps GENviewer is quicker and more user friendly.

Oh, I am so pleased to see other people here looking for an "All-in-One"
chart!
I've just joined this group, so bear with me - but I got in touch with
Wholly Genes recently to ask this specific question - the answer was that it
is on the wish list, but it is up to the developers to decide whether to do
it or not. It is SO frustrating not having that chart available.
I have a reasonable amount of data and often research families of spouses of
ancestors, which I would like to chart. I have also done the 'add several
charts together' trick, but it is very tedious. As to buying another
package to do it!!! - well, you might as well stick with that package in the
first place!!
Come on Wholley Genes, we really need this chart!! Don't we people???!!
One other useful recommendation they made was to check out the free
Genviewer lite, for looking at GENCOM files v.quickly. The full version
also allows you to check for duplicates etc - but maybe you all know that.
Anyway, it is at http://mudcreeksoftware.com/
As frustrated as others!

Elmo
This is where an "All-in-One" chart like those produced by Family Tree Maker
and GENBOX come in useful. If TMG could have an "All-in-One" chart based on
the Project Explorer and/or Focus Group, that would save an awful lot of
laborious "joining".
You might like to try this option.
- Create a focus group of the individuals you want in a chart. Not too
difficult especially with the v6 generations option.
- Export that to GEDCOM
- Import that to Family Tree Maker or GENBOX and use their "All-in-One"
chart feature. OK the added cost of another product and setup/ learning
curve of new product, but once set up, a fairly smooth operation.
If you do go down this route, please check with me for advice as there are
some pitfalls that I have found solutions for.
Hope that helps, it's a problem I've grapled with. I should say that Family
Tree Maker or GENBOX are no where near a replacement for TMG, but they do
have this very endearing feature.
If we all push hard enough, Wholley Genes (TMG) might fill in this very
frustrating gap in their product.
Hope this helps
Equally frustrated

Elmo,
This can be done by using the powerful editing in VCF. But it requires 3
charts to be joined together on a single canvas (assuming that there are
children by both wives). In fact, the TMG Hourglass chart is the automatic
overlaying of 2 charts on a single canvas. There is no feature to do this
for a couple or multiple spouses (although this has been requested).
1) For a child of the each wife create an ancestor chart and save it as a
VC2 file.
2) Create a descendant chart for the husband and save it as a VC2 file.
3) Look at the size of all 3 charts, and calculate final size; width =
maximum of (sum of widths of ancestor charts compared with the width of the
descendant chart), height = sum of descendant chart height and the maximum
of the ancestor chart heights).
4) Create a new blank canvas that exceeds this size.
5) Now open each saved chart in turn, select all, copy and paste it into
the blank canvas at the desired place. It is advisable while doing this
initial composition to keep all the components of a chart as a Group until
you have got the block positioning and separation correct. So I would
advise grouping the whole chart before the cut and paste operation. BTW:
Grouping a large chart can take many minutes, so don't think that VCF has
frozen.
6) Save (as backup) this combined chart as a VC2 file.
7) Now edit the connection lines to the common husband and wife boxes, then
eliminate the redundant boxes. (The reason for step 6, will be come obvious
if you make some mistakes in this editing.)
8) Save the result as VC2 file as it is likely that you will refine the
editing later.
BTW: I routinely create customized charts this way (the maximum of the
pieces that I so far joined together is about 14) - especially important in
large charts where cousins inter-marry and you want the descendants always
presented under their surname line.
