Actually, it's a myth that TMG is more expensive than the other
programs--with the exception of PAF which is free and worth at least
twice that. My brother was recently looking at replacing his ancient,
DOS-based FTM. I looked around at the various programs and found that
the silver edition of TMG downloaded was only $10 more than FTM.
Unfortunately, he was intimidated at the thought of changing his files
to TMG, even with the assistance of Dorothy at TMG, and he bought the
newest FTM. The most annoying thing about it all is that he keeps
bugging me to find out how to do some of the things I do in TMG in FTM;
most of it can't be done. I'm not sure if he felt the time he spent
deleting and re-entering a branch of the family he'd connected at the
wrong generation level that could have been changed in TMG by simply
making a change in the parents tag was worth the ten dollar difference.
