I'm one of those who are hooked on TMG and on WordPerfect. The combination
of the two just can't be beat, but that's just my personal opinion. I've
always loved the reveal codes feature of WP. I've always worked in the
legal profession and they use WP almost exclusively. I don't have much
experience with other word processors. With TMG and WP, I can turn out
awesome reports.
I think the thing people tend to "disremember" about TMG, is that nowhere
have I found the support for any program to equal the support that Bob and
his people give to us with TMG. That support is "free". We have so many
ways for immediate support (this email list, the Forum boards, the on-line
communication with the support staff, a phone call to support). We have
beta testers who are always willing to chime in; it's not only the Wholly
Genes staff. And if you sound panicked enough, you'll get a phone call from
Wholly Genes. I have been the recipient of several of these phone calls.
Bob must NEVER sleep because at least one of them was in the middle of the
night for me.
All in all, I think we get "more bang for the buck" with TMG than I ever saw
with any other genealogy software program that I used before I found TMG. I
won't name names, but I think I've used them all <grin>

Karen,
I agree with you that the price is good, but now I afraid that Bob will read
your message, and start charging $250 (Grin!!!). I am new (two weeks old) to
TMG, but I love the filter functions, the reporting features, the way
sources are handle. I have done enough programming to know that it is not a
small task to develop a database system as well as implement into the system
mechanism to make to whole system extremely flexible to adapt to almost
everybodies needs. TMG reminds me of the good old days of WordPerfect
glories.... Everybody swore by it, and hooked to it after they understood
the reveal codes.
Definitely, keep up the good work,
Gilles Pinet

I'm a firm believer in the old saying "you get what you pay for." Quite
frankly, I don't even remember what I paid for TMG, but it certainly was
worth the investment. I don't know what the current price is, but I
would
be willing to pay an equivalent as to that I paid for "Acrobat" which I
believe was around $250. I like being able to get the upgrades at no
cost
as it keeps me current.
Having Bob and his staff only an e-mail away (and usually a return phone
call within a matter of hours), makes it even more valuable to me as
well as
being able to make suggestions on upgrades only enhances its usability
(is
that a word?).
Keep up the good work.
Karen
