Jim,
I also think the "ease of use" thing is a misconception too. I picked it
up right away and have seen new users here go from newbies to pros in a
matter of weeks. I tried FTM once for a friend and ended up putting the
information into UFT (which I was using at the time) and gedcomming it over
to FTM. I just couldn't deal with FTM for more than 10 minutes. So I guess
ease of use is in the eyes of the user. <G>

Thanks for the info, all good points. As much as I am a fan of Ancestry.com
and Rootsweb, getting an answer/ support for FTM is very difficult. Seems to
be "take it or leave it", although I have not tried the Rootsweb mailing
list for FTM.

However, of the reviews I've read of differing genealogy programs, the cost
(and ease of use) always seems to be the gripe about TMG. Perhaps TMG should
have a policy of cheaper up front, but higher maintenance costs, thereby
attracting more buyers, hence hopefully cheaper all round in the long run.

Anyway, I'm sorry to take you all away from the point, we all seem to think
TMG is the best (or we wouldn't be here), but it would be nice to have the
"all-in-one" feature as described earlier.
Jim
