Well, that was my understanding. But when I did just that, I got the "{ENC}"
and "{END}" codes in place of parentheses (with report options set to
"Embedded in Parentheses".

I dunno. All I can say is the IN Report attempts to embed
[CIT:]textstring[:CIT] citations in parentheses but doesn't quite get there.
