To clarify your confusion... <g>

I've written a bug topic on embedded citations with three issues...

1) The paren translation issue when a text only embedded citation is sent to
screen.

2) The issue of text only embedded citations going to footnotes (with Word
output) when the Sources tab selection is 'Embeded with parentheses'.

3) The leading space issue with embedded citations.
