You might try the following:
SEX = Equals > M AND
x Birth Group... Date > COMES AFTER 27 APR 1877 AND
x Birth Group... Date > COMES BEFORE 16 FEB 1897 AND
( x Death Group... Date > COMES AFTER 27 APR 1942 OR
x Death Group... # of Tags < Is less than ) END
NOTE the "x" indicates "Primary".
If the person died before the registration date I do not think he would
register. You need to use "M" not "Male" for the SEX variable. You also need
to take care of the case where there is no death tag.

PS: You may want to delete the "Reply To:" Address in your mail program. You can do this in Outlook Express by clicking on "Tools > Accounts... > Prosperities > General" and deleting the "Reply To:" address. It is not necessary if you get your mail at the same address that you use to send your mail. If you enter some other email address other than the one you use to send your messages then you need to use this box.
If you enter anything in the box, the automatic replies to your messages will go directly to you and not to the message board. Other users will not get the benefit of any replies to your messages.
