I record head-of-household census entries with a custom census tag. P1 is
the head of household, p2 is a "census person", and the record transcription
goes in the memo.
But if you're going to be using this for detailed analysis, I would suggest
(as others have) that you use Excel or something similar. It's much easier
to put the right numbers in the right columns than it is to type all that
out. And there are probably existing transcriptions out there in similar
form already, though I haven't looked for them.
Of course, if you want to "identify" the unnamed enumerated persons in TMG,
you'll have to attach witnesses to a census tag. One way of doing that would
be to create roles for each category in the census, and attach the people as
they are identified, with an appropriate sentence, e.g. "Anna Smith is
probably the white female enumerated in the John Smith household in the 1790
census of Anywhere, New Hampshire." I'm not sure how that would work for
multiple witnesses in the same category, though. I'm still in data input
mode, and not yet well-versed in narrative reports.

Subject: [TMG] Data Entry Question
How would you handle this?
Known Facts:
Head of house's name, city, county, and state of residence as of a certaind
date.
Household consists of:
1 free white male over 16
2 free white males under 16
3 females
1 other free person
7 slaves
Before beginning any research you want to get at least that info into TMG
so......
How does one enter that? There are no names, dates, relationships or other
identifying marks.
Oh- one other thing.. you and others will be entering approx.500,000 of such
unrelated families.
