I am a bit unsure what you mean here. But let me make some points
and maybe that will clear up things for you.
You should not expect MS/Word to expand embedded citations (using TMG
rules) to the correct citation text. Word just does not understand
"TMG-speak".
Similarly, TMG cannot understand MS/Word files. Yes, TMG can create
output files in MS/Word format. But that is starting from plain text
and not starting from an already formatted file.
The end point is that, yes, the best thing is to include your history
in the Memo field of the Tag. An alternative is to edit the Journal
report in MS/Word and insert or copy/paste the history from your
MS/Word history file kept apart from TMG. If the history is to print
in the essentially same location for the same person then I suggest
including it in the event Tag. But if the history is to be printed
for different persons then I suggest the copy/paste or insert method.
