Open TMG and You should get a "Welcome" window. If this window is not there
and a project opens instead, select "File > Preferences > Program Options >
Startup and Exit" and put a check mark in the "Show Welcome window" box.
Click OK and exit TMG. If the Welcome window is there continue with the
following instructions (you do not need to open TMG again).

Open TMG again and select "Import...". Lets try the simple Wizard first and
see if it works for you, click Next. On the Step 2 window, scroll down and
select "Personal Ancestral File v3-5.x (*.PAF)". At this point you can
either manually locate the PAF file you wish to import or let TMG
"Autosearch" for all of the *.PAF files on your computer and select the one
you want. When you have selected the PAF file, click "Next".

On the Step 3 window you need to enter the name of the TMG project you wish
to create and select the folder where you wish to put the project. (Leave
the Collate sequence set to "MACHINE". Click on the "Next" button.

In step 4, click on the "Finish" button to start the conversion.

When the import finishes, open TMG and see if the results are what you
expected. If not we can reimport using the "Advanced" features to put the
PAF data in different locations in TMG.
