Try the List of People:

* Name-Var... Surname= Equals___________ AND
Birth ...# of tags> Is greater than 0END

Make sure you check the Primary box for the Name variation! Check Options
and make sure the output includes the birth date (it does in the default but
you might have changed it). Sort however you want.

I am trying to create a list of births for a given
surname.

This filter:
Principal 1.. Surname = Equals [?] AND
Tage Type... Label = Equals BIRTH END

gives all those born with this name but also people
whose married name matches.

Is there a way to restrict the report to those who
were born with this surname?
