That is a interesting question, I guess it depends on what you mean by
Tex-mex, If you are talking beans and taco's that is a mexican as you can
get, Chili on the other hand is a whole different story. Most tex-mex chile
is made from a chili powder. The Chili Mexican's use is usually a anaheim
chili which come in different heats depending on where it was grown, and can
be used green or when they are dryed they turn red, and are used to make a
variety of chili sauces. Don't know if I answered your question, I would say
it is a mexican food.
