Charliene,
I also did pharmacist relief work at Bruce & Human Pharmacy in Wills
Point around 1983 for a few weeks. Their long time pharmacist left and he
died a few months later. Jay Loar (spelling) of Royce City was kin to the
family and was over seeing it during the transisition. I can't remember
the bookeeper/managers name, but she was a very nice lady. I remember
the penny weight machine they had, similiar to the one I at at Avery
Pharmacy and carried to Dallas with me. It was a major PR piece in my
Dallas Pharmacy
(Adams Oates Plaza Pharmacy on Oates ). First thing Jay did at
Bruce and Human was to change a store room into an office for him with a big
leather chair. First things first. Jay would much rather be at the
country club golfing.
When was H.D. at Wills Point. Was it before Quinlan or between Quinlan
and Edgewood. He got a raw deal at Quinlan.
It is sad that independent pharmacy owner/operators are becoming fewer and
fewer. Most of the public does not realize what they are missing. We all
seem to be at the mercy of the insurance companies.

TX. He opened his own in Edgewood. If I ever get to move back to the
country, I will live there. We rode in ruts there to son for lunch with them
and grandchildren yesterday. Sure was pretty in trees and snow on ground.
