Charlene,
I think the lady at B&H Pharmacy was a Winn, a family with a lot of money. I also believe Jay Loar, married a Winn which got him into the country club.
I do not remember Dr Watson, but I have spoken of his son ex- County Judge Gavin Watson Jr.
The doctors I remember of the 50s in Clarksville are Drs Reed, Wright, Marx and Payne.
The pharmacist/owners were Mr. Bullington, Hamilton, Blackmon and Morehead. I had absolutely no thought of being a pharmacist until the Air Force pointed me in that direction.
Mr. Morehead always worked in a suit and tie just like he was going to church. Mr Blackmon always wore one of those long, wrap-around white lab coats. I think Mr. Bullington wore long sleeve white shirt with tie. I can't remember what Mr Hamilton wore, but I did visit with him often when I had the pharmacy in Avery. He was usually setting in his recliner in the middle of the store in those days. He offered to give me the City Drug if I would take it. If I knew all the antiques were up stairs, I may have done it for them.
Mr Hamilton was a member of the Pea Picking Salad Band and would play at the Amerigan Legion Hall. He had a great rough voice.
