The messages with the subject line you see are sent by subscribes to the
digest version of the maillist. When you get the digest version, you get a
bunch of messages in one big message. Subscribers that reply to the digest
version should replace the subject line with the subject from the
individual message within the digest they are replying to. Subject lines
are very important. I get hundreds of emails a day. I'm list manager for
about 20 mail lists. I either delete or put off reading messages that don't
have a subject I am interested in. As a matter of fact, I have a filter
that automatically deletes any subject line with the words Humor, Joke,
Opportunity or Business and the phrase Work at Home. You would be surprised
how much spam this eliminates. I have a cousin in Japan who is retired. He
sends me at least one copy of every joke that is going around the internet.
I just read the ones from him when I have the time to read jokes.
