Subject: [VAMONTGO] NANCY THOMPSON, D/O ANDREW AND HARIETT THOMPSON, D. 1863, AGE 19

Follows are records Tom Thompson found at the Montgomery Co.,
Va., courthouse.

I can't reconcile the death of Nancy Thompson in 1863, d/o Andrew
and Hariett Thompson, with the Andrew Thompson whose heirs were
sued in 1858. In the suit there is a Nancy wife of John
Surface, "late" Nancy Thompson. So the Nancy who died in 1863
wasn't even dead then.

I would also very much like to get in touch with someone who may
have information about the Joseph Thompson who died in 1855 in
Kentucky. George Thompson, b. 1742, and Elisabeth Unknown, had a
son, Joseph, b. 1778. It could be Joseph went to Kentucky with
his uncle, Archibald Thompson, or other relatives, and died
there.

"1855
Chancery Court Case # 373. Andrew Thompson qualified as
administrator of the estate of Joseph Thompson who died c. 1855
in Kentucky. Lists heirs of Joseph Thompson. Case filed March
1870. Case filed against Stephen Childress as Adm of Andrews
estate. I think Stephen Childress was also involved with William
Thompson's estate. Andrew may have been brother to Joseph.

1858
Chancery Court Case #225 March 1858. Suit brought by Charelton
family against
Andrew Thompson heirs. Heirs noted to be Samuel A. Stone, Ellen
Thompson, John Francis and Sarah his wife, formerly Sarah
Thompson, John ?Ssurface and Nancy his wife, late Nancy Thompson,
Charles Thompson, Mary Thompson, John Thompson, Harriett E.
Thompson the last four infants under 21 years of age and Hariett
Thompson. Two names I cannot read.
Note; No Joseph noted under heirs of Andrew.

1863
MontCo Death Register Nancy Thompson d/o Andrew and Hariett
Thompson d. Nov 10, 1863, typhoid fever. Age 19."
