There is an abundant amount in of information in these records regarding the
Quakers of Dutchess Co. but this deals with Jesse Irish.

Vol I p. 102
The Oswego meeting was est. as arly as 1750 given Preparity status in 1759
and made a Monthly Meeting in 1803. The Meeting House still stands in
Oswego.....Land for the Meeting was purchased by Jesse Irish, Nathaniel
Yeomans and Allen Moore on 2 Apr 1757 from Robert Livingstone for 5
shillings......

p. 113/4 The Oblong MM complied a "List of the heads of families" of the
various Meeting.......At Oswego

Early Military History 22 - 26 Apr 1755 an enrollment of all the Quakers in
Dutchess Co. includes:JESSE IRISH, DAVID IRISH, WILLIAM IRISH.

p. 540 The Revolutionary War - JESSE IRISH was an early settler of the
Oswego area, first being taxed in June 1748. He was from Tiverton, RI and
after leaving Beekman went to DANBY, VT. His son Peter, b 1743 m Mary Corey
and was a Tory during the Rev. After the war he settled at the Haldimand Twp,
Northumberland Co. Ont. Can. Peter Irish was never taxed in Beekman and was
not mentioned in local records.

Vol 4 p. 325 of the Dingee Family.....Robert Dingee and Samuel Dorland both
requested admission to the Oblong Quaker Meeting 16 Feb 1758. They were
admitted at the meeting held at 9 Partners 16 Mar 1758.....JESSE IRISH and
Robert Dingee were appt to inquire into the conduct of Joseph Smith and his
wife.....

Vol 3 p. 46 of the Button Family....John Button gave bond for a farm in lot
18 of 180 acres. This farm had first been settled by JESSE AND DAVID IRISH
in 1756 with a wheat rent of 16 bushels....
