Onion Drafts for Colds: Soak feet in water as hot as you
can stand. Split onions in two and put them on the soles
of the feet. Pull stockings on over the onions and go to bed
allowing them to remain on all night. The onions will draw
the blood away from the head to the feet and the cold will
be gone the next day.
(The lady who gave me this remedy said it was frequently
used in her home when she was young. She said the next
day her feet would burn and be very tender and the rough
shoes she wore made them very sore.)
Earaches were cured by cuuting an onion in two. Heat
one half as hot as you can stand it and place it over the ear.
To remove blemishes on the skin make a paste of chop-
ped onions, honey, salt and chicken grease. Mix well and
apply to face and neck. Allow to remain until it dries and you
can feel it draw.
For Croup: Put ground onion and pork on feet of patient.

For Asthma: Boil onions, strain them off, and add the same
quanity of molasses to the onion water--also same quanity
of gin.
