Seeking information about my gggrandfather, Benjamin Stoddard. born
probably around 1840, maybe in New York State. I know that at one time
I read a paper in the Dummerston Town Clerk's office that said that
Samuel Stoddard, son of Samuel Stoddard moved to New York and raised a
family there. On the 18whatever census for Dummerston, Benjamin
Stoddard is listed in the household of Levi Stoddard as a cousin.
Benjamin Stoddard married Nancy Ann Crawford, a.k.a Anna Crofford
sometime around 1860 or so and lived in Shaftsbury, Bennington County,
VT. They were living there in 1862, when my greatgrandmother, Adella
was born.
I have no definite dates for either Ben or Nancy's births or deaths. I
do have a photograph of Adella's family (I think) and there is an older
gentlemen in the photo that I believe to be Benjamin Stoddard. The
photo was taken about 1898, in the summer. (Roses are blossomed in the
background)
Any smidgin of help would be greatly appreciated. I would be happy to
trade information on Benjamin's descendants.There were 10 children. One
of them must have descendants out there looking for the same info that I
am.
