The earliest Wards on my list start with William Ward, b 25 Dec. 1743.He and wife
Nancy Courtney Ward had eight children:
Charles b. 1/18/1776
Elizabeth b 1/18/1778
Mary, b. 4 Feb. 1780
William b. 26 May 1782
Robert b. 20 May 1784
James Edwin, b 7 Oct. 1786
George, b 8 June 1789
Richard Courtney, b. 14 Aug. 1792

William and his family moved from Pendleton County W. Va. in 1802 and settled in
Fairfield and Pickaway counties in Ohio. John Ward
