The origin of the name Sylvester Webb in Virginia is also a mystery. He
must be named for someone with that surname or a given name. Similar to the
Augustine Webb question.

There were several Sylvester Webb's in the late 1700's and early 1800's.
Mine was born and died in Virginia.

Any clues out there?
Mary
