Hi Webbsters: I transcribed this for another Augustine Webb descendant, then
thought maybe there were others on the list who might be interested. A
couple of words were undecipherable, and it is a very bad copy, but here it is.

This Indenture made the eighth day of July in the year of our Lord one
thousand Seven hundred and eighty eight between Augustine Webb and Elizabeth his
wife of the one part and Samuel Black of the other part Witnesseth that the said
Augustine Webb and Elizabeth his Wife hath bargained sold covenants and agreed
and with the said Samual Black to him and his Heirs for ever a certain Tract
of Land lying and being in the County of Botetourt and State of Virginia on
Sinking Creek a Branch of New River, being part and the upper End of a Survey
made for Samuel Adams under the Loyal Company Grant bearing date the twelfth Day
of April one thousand seven Hundred and seventy four, containing by patent
one Hundred thirdy five Acres, for the consideration of sixty five pounds to him
in hand paid the Recpt whereof the said Webb doth hereby acknowledge and
bounded as followeth (to wit) Beginning at the black Oaks on the side of a Hill on
the North side of the Creek and running South thirtten degrees East forty
poles to a while Oak inthe Creek, South thirty degrees West forthy pole crossing
the Creek to white and Red Oak, South five degrees East forty four pole to two
white Oaks South fifty six degrees West fifty poles to a Pine South eight
degrees West about Seventy pole to a fresh mark'd white Oak and from said sapling
on a Branch conditionally made thence the Meanders of this Branch to the
Creek, and up the Creek to the first bend to a mark'd white Oak,on the Bank on the
North side of the sd Creek conditionally made. Thence North ten degrees West
to the back line thence along the old back line north forty one degrees East,
the Number of poles not known to the Begining, with it's Appurtenances to have
and to hold the said Tract or Piece of Land with all its Appurtenances
profit? and Advantages therein belonging to the said Samuel Black to him and his
heirs forever...Property of said Land and Appurtenances, thereunto belonging
tothe said Augustine Webb and Elizabeth his Wife do hereby warrant and defend
against ...Heirs Exrs Adms and Assigns to the said Samuel Black his heirs Exrs and
Assignes forever Claiming by of under...them, or any other person or persons
whomsoever  in Testimony of which we have hereunto set our hands and
Seals the day and year above written.
