Thanks for the suggestions re NP. It makes sense, but my fellow married in Heytesbury and was living there at that time and was working and living there when arrested, however still gave his NP as Tisbury. Perhaps he really did live half way between and so changed his address according to who was asking!

Native place Tisbury is only 8 miles from Heytesbury, but probably lived in Tisbury all his life therefore was native to it. Probably mother lived in Heytesbury before marriage so took baby to be christened there. It happens all the time. Also though they are 8 miles apart they could have lived midway between the 2.
