Subject: [WEST-L] Ms Hunter..

Hello again, everybody!
I'm hoping somebody might have some knowledge about this couple: from the
Vanderburgh Co. Indiana Marriage Records Vol 3 1846-1920 - Hunter, Cordelia
M. married John D. West on Oct 7, 1884. I'm trying to run down the
possibility that the James H. West I found in the CA State and SSDI records
is indeed my grandfather who died in Palm Springs CA in 1966 (which I
mentioned earlier here). In the CA records, his mother's maiden name is
listed as Hunter. My mother's name was Doris Cornelia West (slight MN
variation), his sons were named James Dixon and John Howard. I have
eliminated every other possibility in the SSDI and CA State Death Records
on a time/place/age basis. This must be him. However, until I can link
him to the elusive Ms. Stipe (she's listed as my mom's and all her siblings
mother who died relatively young after bearing several children - mentioned
earlier), I appear to be stuck at the lowest level. I have purchased and
installed FTM 8.0 (heh- doesn't seem to internet properly) and prior to
that subscribed to genealogylibrary.com (lots of databases - I'll be happy
to run a name thru for ya..), so I'm still trying.. Can somebody advise me
on what I might expect to pay for professional help to overcome these
initial roadblocks?
Tommy
