Hello, Folks --
There has been considerable discussion about Francis WEST and his
descendants. He came to Plymouth County, MA in the 1630 time frame.
His wife was Margery Reeves, and they had 5 children -- Samuel, Thomas,
Peter, Mary and Ruth, and possibly a sixth, Richard. I'll call this the
established Francis WEST.
We have tentatively identified one of my wife's ancestors as
Susannah WEST, whose parents were Richard and Mary (Samson) WEST. They
were married in 1693 in Duxbury, Plymouth, MA. Richard was apparently
the son of Francis John and Susanna (Soule) WEST, born about 1662 in
Duxbury. Francis was apparently the son of Matthew WEST, born about
1631 in Duxbury. He died in 1696 in N Kingston, RI. I'll call him the
dubious Francis WEST.
I regard this whole dubious Francis WEST line as very iffy. None of
it fits with the established Francis WEST line discussed at length on
this listserv during the last few days, except that both of those lines
mention Duxbury, MA during the same time period.
Can any of you shed any light on our dubious Francis John WEST
line? Thanks in advance for your help.
