I need some expert advice. My search(es) are currently stalled while
awaiting paper records on both of my parents to arrive. My interest has
turned to my only sibling, a sister who I understand has passed away while
in Las Vegas in the early 1990's. I learned this second hand from a friend
of a friend, and it was vaguely verified by the State Farm agent who had
searched me out to settle a small life insurance policy my father had
purchased in 1956 payable to my mother. While the agent would provide no
hard information to me from his records, he did say that both my parents
and my sister were verified as deceased, leaving me as the sole survivor of
my immediate family. I made a written request to his office for any data
concerning my family and rec'd no reply. I do not know my sister's last
name at the time of her death, and have no idea who she was married to,
only that she was presumed to be living in Pasadena CA and died while on a
weekend in Las Vegas (date unknown). To complicate things, I remember her
telling me in the late 60's that she had changed her first name from Anita
to Angel (legally? i don't know..). She had 2 daughters born in the 60's,
and using a CA Births search engine combining their first names and her
maiden name, I have located their exact names (at birth) and their exact
dates of birth. These are my nieces, and they're now in their 30's. I
would like to locate them, but have no idea of how to go about it. I
haven't seen them in 30 years. If you can offer guidance on either of
these issues, please do.
