I have bits and pieces of information left to me by a g.g.aunt. I don't know where she obtained them. She wrote that Oliver Wise of Breston was followed by William Wise, whose son, Serlonius, and his three sons, Oliver, Sir John, and Henry, were also of Greston. These three sons were the founders of the three houses of Wise in Devonshire, possibly indicated in the family arms by the three chevrons.
I am trying to connect with my John Wise of Devonshire, b. 1617-1695, the supposed progenitor of the Wise family in Virginia, with the many other John Wise that may go back to Oliver.
- or if that is where I should be headed.
