Ancestors and Descendants, by Jennings Cropper Wise, Page 27 (i.e.,
Chart of the Family of Wise of Devonshire).

Since I have been trying for years ( to no avail) to find our GA/SC WISE
connection to the Accomack Co., VA Wises, I have collected and compiled
quite a bit of info. on the Accomack Co. Wises in my database. Below is
an Ahnentafel Report on Colonel John Wise I (Jr.) (1617-1695), which
shows his English ancestry as documented in the Jennings Cropper Wise's
book (see above reference). If anyone has anything other than this,
please inform the list and (please-please-please) cite your primary
source of information.

Please note that the subject Colonel JOHN WISE (1617-1695) is documented
as the most likely son of JOHN WISE SR. and his wife ??? (NAME UNKNOWN),
of Sydenham & Cuddleston, England; and the paternal grandson of Sir
Rychard Wise, Knight, and his wife ??? (NAME UNKNOWN) of Sydenham,
England. As far as it is known at this time, and unless someone has
some definite proof, the subject is NOT the son of his cousin JOHN WISE
(d. 1676) and his wife SUSANNAH PRESTWOOD, of Totness, England (as
someone recently indicated) ... who is related, but proven to be of
another branch of the English WISE family

Unless someone has definite proof to the contrary, I feel it is
important that we stick to the extensive research and findings of
Jennings Cropper Wise ... otherwise we'll find that we will muddle-up
the VA/Engand Wise family bloodlines much worse than what they are
presently.

For the benefit of all, I will also send out a separate/subsequent Email
containing what I have on the DESCENDANTS of Colonel JOHN WISE I (JR.)
and his wife HANNAH SCARBROUGH.
