I am looking for info about the Curtis Lawrence wise family. He was born 6-18-1895 in Oregon to Cora Wise and Jake Tawney, according to Curtis's social security application record. However, his parents most of the time are listed as Lawrence E wise and mary a Wise, both of Oregon. I am thinking they are either uncle/aunt or grandparents to him. The were listed as adoptive parents and were in their late 50's early 60's when he was born. Lawrence was born in 1832 in Rochester New york. Mary A Rodney was born in 1833 in New York. they came to Oregon at 45 years old. Where were they before this?? Why was Curtis adopted? What happened to his real birth parents? Cora was supposingly born in Missouri, and his father jake Tawney was born in kansas. Curtis was married 2ce. First to Hazel L. Paine (Brannon?) she died in 1923. He then married Helen. She died 12-5-1978 in Multnomah County Oregon.
Please contact me as I am very puzzled by this branch of the wise family. I am also trying to locate possible siblings to lawrence e Wise. I am wondering if there are more wise's in Missouri?? Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Please contact me directly if you would like.... thanks, Kathy
