William WISE married Mary Ann BAKER in Hardy Co. VA/WVA ca 1818. Their first child Nimrod was born 1 Sept 1919 followed by Jacob and Mary Ann who I believe was a posthumous child. William WISE died in 1822. After his death the widow married Jonathan Levi TAYLOR and moved to Effingham Co., IL. I have been able to trace Nimrod Wise to Arkansas where he died in 1895. Mary Ann WISE who married Nelson SIMONS is in Clinton Co., IL 1850 and dies there in 1893. Living with them in 1850 is her brother Jacob, age 29. After that time, I loose Jacob.

Recently I discovered an unmarried Jacob WISE in Hardy Co., WVA 1870 census, Capon Twp, p. o. Moorefield. age 50. The 1880 Hardy Co. census shows a Jacob WISE, age 60 with a wife Rachel 39 and four children Benj. T. 7, Ann R. 5, Arthur L. 3 and Amanda 1. Could this Jacob WISE be the brother of Nimrod WISE and Mary Ann (WISE) SIMONS?
